A DOMINANT Basford ended their four-game winless run without manager Martin Carruthers as they overcame Blyth Spartans at Croft Park.
Temporary head coach Luke Potter’s Ambers side threatened from the off when Ashley Chambers nicked the ball off Ben Milburn before forcing a great stop from Harrison Bond.
Chambers then bagged Basford’s first after meeting Josh Barnes’ cross at the back post, nodding goalwards and, after a slight scramble, the ball fumbled in for the visitors.
