YATE cruised into the next round of the FA Trophy with a comfortable win against an in-form Melksham for whom Elliot Haffenden missed a golden opportunity in the opening minutes.
Lucas Tomlinson put Yate in front with a speculative shot from 25 yards after eight minutes and with Yate Town dominant, Ross Stearn added a second after 41 minutes following good work from Ollie Dewsbury.
