BOTH teams started lively but it wasn’t until the ninth minute that Matt Daniel found space on the left and shot just wide of the far post for East Grinstead.
Three minutes later, Grinstead were awarded a penalty for a clear handball, but Glen Wilson’s usually reliable effort struck a post, offering Merstham a huge let-off.
