BOTH Aldershot goals came from academy graduates as a 98th-minute winner from Maxwell Mullins settled this tie in the favour of the ten-man hosts.
Ashley Akpan put the National League side ahead in the 24th minute, bundling the ball in from close-range.
There was a clear gap in quality between the two sides but Christian Maghoma’s 58th-minute straight-red saw Aldershot reduced to ten men and gave the Romans an opportunity to get back into a game they had hardly been in.
