BOREHAM WOOD made it through to the first round with an emphatic victory over Carshalton Athletic.
The hosts got off to an excellent start on three minutes when some excellent approach play from Femi Ilesanmi, Abdul Abdulmalik and Erico Sousa created a chance for Kwesi Appiah, who made no mistake at the near post.
Wood should have added to their lead on 18 minutes, but Charlie O’Connell headed wide from a Tom Whelan corner. Seven minutes later a Whelan free-kick took a deflection off a Robins defender before going narrowly wide.
