WHITBY TOWN started a new era with a 1-1 draw, having parted company with Nathan Haslam earlier in the week. Stand-in boss Gary Liddle dropped himself and assumed managerial duties, and the Seasiders came from a goal down: Stephen Walker stooped to nod in from close range to level it after Nathan Buddle’s header put the hosts in front.
Both sides looked evenly matched throughout, and both lacked that final moment of quality to break down their opponent.
