SECOND time around, Jon Moran’s reaction to a potentially career-ending knee injury was to step away from football altogether.
Nantwich Town had just been relegated from the Northern Premier League’s top flight after a 14-year stay and the defender was desperate to help them return at the first attempt.
Instead, he tore his ACL at the start of pre-season.
“That was tough mentally,” he told The NLP.
“And I would never have returned had the phone not rang.”
