A DRAMATIC game saw Marine knock FC Halifax Town out of the National League U19 Alliance League Cup – but they needed a last-minute equaliser and penalties to do it.
Halifax were the better side in the first half, creating multiple chances and putting the Mariners under substantial pressure. That dominance eventually told when Bailey Thompson scored after 30 minutes to give the Shaymen a deserved lead into the break.
A half-time change in system paid dividends for Marine who came out looking reinvigorated and forced the Yorkshire side to spend the majority of the second period...
