■ IN a match spoilt by the blustery conditions, Sheppey came out on top but were made to work hard as Phoenix showed lots of promise.
The first shot of the game after 13 minutes broke the deadlock – Eitel Goueth scoring from the edge of the box, before Dan Bradshaw doubled the lead after half an hour.
Just before the break, both Richard Pingling and Kiye wasted chances have scored for the visitors.
Phoenix made got on top after the break and Pingling reduced the deficit with 25 minutes left, before Martin hit the bar.
