ON a damp afternoon, Berkhamsted defeated Biggleswade in front of a good crowd.
The hosts started strongly, with Jack Tompkins’ cross finding Jonathan Lacey, whose shot forced a good save from the Biggleswade keeper.
After 25 minutes, Ryan Clarke’s shot across goal was deflected in by Matt Bateman, giving Berkhamsted the lead.
Biggleswade responded with a strong 35th-minute effort, but keeper Josh Bowler made a smart save.
Just before half time, Bateman’s shot forced another good Biggleswade save.
