LAYTON WATTS netted on his league debut as Whitby put their home woes well and truly behind them.
Their visitors, so often a thorn in Town’s side, started well with Aaron Bennett forcing a smart early save from Shane Bland.
Nic Evangelinos saw his deflected effort float just over the top before the hosts started to come into the clash midway through the first half.
