BELPER missed the chance to go second, being held to a 1–1 draw at lowly Brighouse, who themselves moved a point clear of the drop zone.
All the goals came in the opening quarter of an hour, the Nailers taking the lead through Tavonga Kuleya marking his debut with a goal from close range after a corner from Mason Warren.
Four minutes later, Niah Payne ran onto a flicked header and his finish was expertly despatched beyond Kieran Preston.
