CANVEY ISLAND’S relegation fears were increased after a disappointing 4-0defeat to prime relegation candidates Bognor Regis at the Steve’s Taxi’s stadium.
Gulls were second best throughout against their Sussex opponents, who dominated from the start.
Canvey went a goal down after 13 minutes. A break down the left saw the ball played into Bailey Smith, who tapped home from close range.
Jasper Mather headed home from a few yards out on 18 minutes to increase the lead.
