FULL-BACK Harvey Sparks’ first goal of the season may not have been deliberate but it could hardly have been more valuable for his side as it earned Horsham a point in what was their first draw of the campaign in 15 home matches.
Sparks’ free-kick from the right was intended for the head of Charlie Hester-Cook, but such was the angle and trajectory of the delivery that it found the corner of Chatham’s net anyway when the midfielder failed to make any contact.
The Hornets might well have been in the lead already by that stage...
