Elliott Thorpe’s early strike put a huge dent in Southend United’s play-off hopes, but boosted Solihull Moors’ bid to avoid relegation from the National League.
The Shrimpers had been hoping to edge closer to the top seven against the out-of-form Moors at Roots Hall.
But Thorpe’s tenth-minute effort settled the clash, leaving the Blues in ninth and four points outside the play-offs.
