■ CARLTON scooped a narrow victory, over Rugby, despite late controversy at Butlin Road. Second-half strikes from
Lewis Durow and Ashley Chambers gave Carlton a two-goal cushion, but the hosts shaded the opening period with Callum Griffin and Ryan Sahota denied.
Carlton went ahead after 57 minutes when Durow powered home after Niall Davie had slipped him in.
Chambers then clipped in Liam Bateman’s delivery on the hour, but Rugby replied with Rivel Mardenborough’s strike after 88 minutes.
