■ BRIDLINGTON Town began their NPL East campaign with victory over Ashington
An Ahmed Salam brace in the second-half sealed the three points for the Seasiders, after a slow start for both sides.
Salam broke the deadlock, in more active second period, when he pulled himself back to the edge of the box, rolling the ball into the bottom corner of the Ashington goal.
Salam then doubled the Seasiders’ advantage, in a fine individual showing.
