■ GRIMSBY Borough re-corded a tight opening day win, over visitors Con-sett in a classic two-sided affair.
The home side opened the scoring, after 26 minutes, after a great initial save from Harry Moss, centre back Tom Sawyer was able to force the ball home from close range.
Grimsby got a deserved second goal, just two minutes before half-time, as Moss failed to deal with a corner and Bradley Wood was able to head home.
Their persistence in attack was ultimately rewarded, after 64 minutes, as Brandon Holdsworth ran onto a long ball and lobbed the ad...
