■ IN a closely fought encounter, visitors Ascot United ran out winners at Horndean, with a display of clinical finishing.
The Deans were unlucky not to have opened the scoring 13 minutes in, as a shot from O’Connell was tipped onto the post.
The visitors were in front with little under twenty minutes played, after a neat interplay on the edge of the box created an opening for Sylla who steered the ball home.
Ascot doubled their advantage with the break approaching after a devastating counter attack move was rounded off by Deru.
