■ GORLESTON climbed above their rivals into the play-off places with a narrow but hard-fought victory, though Bowers & Pitsea left feeling aggrieved by key decisions.
The visitors struck the woodwork early on, but Gorleston took the lead before half-time. Louis McIntosh’s header was cleared off the line by Alex Golder, but the referee ruled it had struck the defender’s arm, awarding a penalty and showing Golder a red card. Alby Matthews confidently converted from the spot.
