POLICE TO PROBE TERRACE AGGRO AT AVRO

POLICE are investigating after a Step 4 game had to be abandoned following a violent clash between players and supporters on the terraces.
The ugly confrontation took place six minutes before the end of Avro’s game with Kidsgrove Athletic when a fight broke out in the stands of the Vestacare Stadium, involving home fans and a handful of Kidsgrove players.
Avro were leading the NPL West fixture 6-0 at the time, while Kidsgrove were playing with nine men after two having players – including player-manager Tom Pope – sent off.
