■ GOALS from Harvey Smith and Jamal Adams gave Coventry Sphinx the win.
The hosts could have had an early lead as they pushed forward, but the Basford defence stood firm, with Ethan Stewart clearing a chance off the line.
But they took the lead just after the half-hour mark when Smith got in and planted the ball past Matthew Yates in the Basford goal.
