NEWTON Aycliffe made
■ it a Friday night to forget for Ashington, who missed a penalty, had a player sent off and lost to three second-half goals at Woodhorn Lane.
Two teams at the wrong end of the table provided little in the first half, apart from a penalty awarded to the Colliers, which was missed by Josh Gilchrist.
Aycliffe took the lead after 53 minutes, a shot from Jack Clarkson going through a crowded penalty area, beating Tyler Jones and nestling in the bottom corner.
Eleven minutes later, the lead was doubled, Scott Fenwick netting.
