■ KEVIN Hunter’s first match as Witham manager ended in a convincing victory over Mildenhall.
Ben Allen struck in the first minute to give the new gaffer a dream start.
Ernest Okoh had a fierce shot well saved by Mildenhall goalkeeper Finley Iron in the 32nd minute – Rowan Dorling’s header from the subsequent corner was cleared.
The second half was a better spectacle in which Witham always looked more likely to score – despite Mildenhall’s industry, they were unable to test Witham goalkeeper Billy Lawlor.
