COVENTRY Sphinx’s game with AFC Rushden and Diamonds was abandoned at half-time due to a comment of a sexist nature that was allegedly directed toward the female match official.
Following the game being abandoned, Diamonds said in a statement: “A comment of a sexist nature was allegedly directed toward the female match official towards the end of the first half. Attempts to identify the individual were unsuccessful.
