Lead the marvellous medics

The Great Britain Medical Football Team are searching for a new head coach.

NEWS IN BRIEF

THE Great Britain Medical Football Team are searching for a new head coach.

The NLP previously featured the national representative side made up of doctors – most of whom play across the Non-League when not working on the wards – after they won the World Medical Championship, in Dublin, in July.

Following the victory, their fourth world championship win from five consecutive runs to the final, head coach Dan Collins has taken the decision to resign to seek out other coaching opportunities.

Sussex-based Collins, an A Licence holder, told The NLP: “I gave it the summer to think about things, but deep down I knew it was time to move on and pursue fresh challenges.

“I’m incredibly fortunate to have worked with good players, wonderful staff and to have travelled the world.

WINNER: Daniel Collins

“Winning four world championships was the icing on the cake and our success has allowed me to go out on my own terms – not many managers get that chance!

“The move to a winter World Cup in 2026, in Costa Rica, gives time for a successor to get their feet under the table and I wish whoever it is every success. It’s a fantastic little side gig for someone working in the Non-League.’

CVs for the vacant position should be sent to [email protected]

Applicants must possess either a UEFA A or B Licence and be available one Sunday per month to deliver training, for two weekend-long camps around May and June and during the tournament.

It is a non-salaried role but expenses (such as fuel, accommodation and flights) will be paid.
