■ STRUGGLING Downham Town endured a punishing afternoon as they fell at home to in-form Bowers & Pitsea, who struck three times in a ruthless eight-minute spell in the first half.
Ian Salmon opened the scoring in the 18th minute, before John Faulkner doubled the lead just three minutes later, capitalising on sustained pressure.
Downham looked rattled as the visitors continued to drive forward. Enam Tettey made it three in the 26th minute with a composed finish, and Rene Batlokwa capped a relentless first-half performance by firing in a fourth just bef...
