NELSON booked their place in the fourth round of the FA Vase for the first time in their history against Ramsbottom United from the division above.
Nelson keeper Chris Thompson made routine work of Matt Dudley’s effort, and the visitors fired over through Darren Holden. Nelson finished the half strongly, with Thompson twice denying Jacob Holland-Wilkinson and Scott Sephton.
The breakthrough arrived on 55 minutes when Ramsbottom keeper Brad Rose’s poor clearance fell to Ryan Bolton, who lashed the ball into the net. Rose concede...
