HUNGERFORD were fastest off the blocks at Avenue Stadium.
Charlie Austin met a flick on from Matt Berry-Hargreaves to head the Crusaders into a second minute lead and a minute later appeared to double the tally only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.
Crusaders skipper Rhys Taylor then smashed the ball against the far post and Harry Williams headed just over as the visitors dominated the opening half hour.
