TAMWORTH WON 5-4 ON PENS
TAMWORTH squeezed into the FA Trophy fourth round after edging past National League rivals Boston United at The Lamb after a marathon penalty shoot-out.
Goalkeeper Jas Singh was the Lambs’ hero, saving from Lenell John-Lewis and Kieran Donnelly before Marcel Lavinier blazed Boston’s seventh kick over the bar to settle it.
The goalless first half was befitting of a Scrooge-like defensive show and neither side were giving anything away with chances coming at a premium.
