■ REDCAR’S charge to-the NPL East title wards suffered a hiccup as they let a 2-0 half-time lead slip.
Louis Johnson, Adam Boyes, Rio May and Oscar Fletcher all went close to breaking the deadlock before Johnson opened the scoring in the 31st minute when he converted Owen Burns’ pass.
It was 2-0 ten minutes later and Burns was again the provider, crossing for Bradley Fewster to head in.
Consett took advantage of a strengthening breeze with home goalkeeper Josh Mazfari caught out as Ben Ramsey pulled one back.
