■ MERSTHAM maintained their push for a top five spot with a hard-fought win away at Hassocks.
It was the visitors who started well at Hassocks Hotel Beacon, with James Shaw saving well from Emmanuel Robe and then Olu Lawal inside the first 20 minutes.
Hassocks responded though, and Dan Turner produced a fine save from Rob Tolfrey with an effort that looked bound for the bottom corner.
