LEWES grabbed their third win on the bounce with a Kaan Bennett winner in the 12th minute of second-half injury time keeping them in the hunt for a play-off spot, while heaping more pressure on Welling, who still languish in the relegation zone.
The visitors started sharply, with John Ufuah coming close in the second minute, then former Rook TQ Addy failing to hit the target from close range in the tenth minute.
However, after that energetic start, the rest of the half failed to warm up a festive crowd of 800 on a chilly afternoon.
