POOLE lost at home for only the second time this season with Sholing recording the double over them in a very close encounter.
Sholing started the brighter with Jake McCarthy shooting straight at the keeper then Michael Folivi firing just wide.
However, the momentum shifted to Poole who went on to dominate the rest of the first half but failed to break the deadlock. Shaq Gwengwe appeared to be brought down in the box but no penalty was awarded.
