CONSETT 1 HEATON STAN 1

■ HEATON Stannington go into the new year in the play-off places on goal difference and with just one away defeat after they shared the spoils at mid-table north-east rivals Consett.
The Steelmen won 5-1 at Heaton in August but the rematch was a much tighter affair as The Stan came from behind to stretch their unbeaten run to eight games.
Consett took the lead in their first Boxing Day home game for 13 years when Stan defender Joe Robson headed past his own goalkeeper from a long clearance from home keeper Harry Moss.
