■ WELLINGBOROUGH nicked the Boxing Day derby with a fifth-minute winner from Danny Draper and some resolute defending with 10 men.
The crossbar played a crucial part at either end of the first half, with the ultimately winning goal going in off after Dan Jezeph’s attempted save of a great volley and Diamonds denied an equaliser by a flick tipped onto the bar. Dean Snedker also made a great save to deny Aidan Webster for Diamonds and Bruno Andrade was unlucky not to get a penalty awarded in Diamonds’ favour.
