The build up to a historic first ever league meeting of Blyth Spartans and Blyth Town has been overshadowed by the predicament both clubs find themselves in.
The season has been one of struggle for two clubs sitting just over a mile apart in their corner of South East Northumberland and there are genuine concerns both could find themselves back in the Ebac Northern League next season.
For Gavin Fell’s Town side, that would be no new experience, after a play-off final win against Newcastle Blue Star last season secured a maiden voyage into the Northern Premier League East...
