■ LUKE Goddard’s first game as Nantwich Town manager ended in a goalless draw at home to Stalybridge Celtic.
Liam Tongue was heavily involved in the Stalybridge midfield; a smart move ended with him curling an effort off the top of the crossbar.
The Dabbers’ best effort came when Joel Connolly intercepted in midfield and played it to Alex Panter who dragged a shot wide.
In the second half, Tongue threatened again, forcing Ben Garratt to palm a free-kick behind.
