STAFFORD boosted their survival aspirations with a vital win at struggling Witton and move out of the drop zone as a reward.
Buoyed by ending a 13game sequence without a victory after dispatching Darlaston in midweek, they edged ahead after 19 minutes when Jono Atherton finished clinically at the end of a counter.
Joe Edwards curled against the crossbar as Witton responded, and visiting goalkeeper Scott Moloney saved Joe Duckworth’s prodded effort.
