BRIDGES began the match brightly, enjoying several strong early phases and creating a number of chances before taking the lead after 12 minutes.
A slick move involving three quick one-twos between Noel Leighton and Charlie Bennett allowed Bennett to stroke a composed finish past Joe Coleman’s left-hand side to make it 1–0.
Herne Bay responded well after conceding and gradually grew into the game. Their forward line, with Johan Caney-Bryan looking particularly lively,
