■ WALTHAM Abbey stay third in the table after damaging play-off-chasing Gorleston’s top-five hopes with a victory.
The Abbotts were determined to make a fast start and they did that, Kai Brown opening the scoring inside two minutes.
The Emeralds looked to get back into the game, but they lacked the cohesion to unlock Waltham’s defence. Two minutes before half-time, a flowing moving was finished off by Brown for his second of the afternoon.
