PORTISHEAD closed the gap on second-placed Malvern after a battling win at Bideford.
Sam Wright’s brilliant goal-line clearance denied Ethan Feltham a breakthrough for the visitors shortly after the interval, only for Callum Eastwood to scramble an opener from the resulting corner.
Aron Robbins fluffed a chance to double the lead when he headed over from close range before Archie Reay was sent off for the hosts following a foul on sub Matt Britton – earning a second caution.
