■ RYAN Beigan’s first-half goal was enough for Bootle to beat fellow play-off hopefuls Chasetown.
The first major chance of the game fell to Luke Yates from outside the box as his deflected shot rolled just a yard wide of the goal.
Not long after, Beigan fed a fantastic ball through to Ste Edmondson but keeper Curtis Pond made a magnificent save to deny Bootle an opener.
Bootle finally broke the deadlock as Xavier Smith’s free kick found Beigan at the near post who took it down on his chest and buried it into the near corner.
