BATTLING Blyth ended their run of six consecutive defeats to revive hopes they might be able to escape the drop.
The bottom-placed team are nine points below the safety line, with nine games still to play but showed they are capable of a great escape with a hard-fought victory.
Silsden made the early running and came close when Luke Brooksbank hit the post.
However, it was Blyth who opened the scoring deep into first half stoppage time when Ben Franklin chipped in from the edge of the penalty area.
