TWO late goals saw Merstham earn a hard-fought victory and break relegation-threatened Hassocks hearts.

The visitors took the lead after 13 minutes as a cross by ex-Moatsider Ben Shroll was headed against the bar by Harry Furnell, only for Max Davidson to sweep home the rebound.

The home side’s best chance in the first-half saw Louie Theophanous denied by a flying James Shaw save as the striker tried to loft the ball from distance.
