WORKINGTON took a huge step towards survival as they defeated fellow relegation battlers Hyde United with a classy second half strike from substitute Josh Galloway.
The home side had the better of the first half but failed to capitalise on their opportunities.
Reds goalkeeper Alex Mitchell saved well from close range from Tunde Owolabi in the 23rd minute.
In the 34th minute patient play by the Tigers saw Matt Fearnley thread a pass through to Dontai Gabidon who crossed along the face of the goal but saw no one there to find the net.
