BOTTOM-side Brighouse put in a spirited performance but fell short against Blyth Spartans.
On the half hour Rhys Plater for the hosts turned inside and out and stung the palms of Callum Dobson – the only real chance of the first half
Blyth opened their account in the 47th minute with captain Jack Vaulks scoring from an in-swinging right-footed free-kick.
The hosts equalised after the hour, captain Nathan Curtis making space for Plater to fire low and hard from the edge of the box.
