CLAYTON IS CULLED BY GLADS

RUTHLESS Matlock Town have sacked manager Adam Clayton – with the club sitting third in the table and in the hunt for promotion.
The decision to axe the former Middlesbrough, Huddersfield and Leeds United midfielder from his first managerial role came in the wake of a 4-2defeat at Redcar Athletic on Wednesday night which saw the Steelmen clinch the NPL East title with six games to spare.
Clayton was also axed by the Gladiators on Boxing Day but was reinstated three days later.
