Students to a valuable three points over Rugby Borough.
The hosts threatened throughout the first half as Gafar Abari and Zac Scutt both went close early on, forcing fine saves out of Marcus Bald.
Borough formed their first chances midway through the first half, but Steven Bessent kept the scores level.
Loughborough made a bright start to the second period and earned a penalty in the 55th minute which Salsby rifled into the top corner to edge the Scholars ahead.
