■ THE battle to avoid relegation took another twist with a goal from Wayne Whitfield enabling the Bishops to leapfrog their visitors to climb out of the drop zone.
Whitfield’s 54th-minute penalty after captain James Risbrough had been fouled made it three 1-0 wins in a row for the County Durham side.
However, it could have been
a wider margin but for a penalty save by Neil de Jesus, who denied Dean Thexton from the spot in the 14th minute.
